MALIKA is an independent literary and cultural initiative centered on reading, hope, knowledge, and lifelong learning. It brings together books, stories, open learning resources, and cross-cultural perspectives.

About the Author

Malika Kaabar (玛丽可) is an independent writer and lifelong learner.

Her writing projects include the novels We Once Walked at the Edge of the World and Knowledge Led Me Through the Darkness, as well as the short story collection The Vegetable Beautician.

Malika writes about history, displacement, education, and the lives of ordinary people, while exploring how people take responsibility, find meaning, and hold on to hope in times of uncertainty. Her work moves from the long arc of history into the lives of families and individuals, and from individual experience back toward a deeper understanding of history.

Across different times, places, and circumstances, her writing returns to a recurring question: when so much in life is uncertain, what helps us understand who we are, where we come from, and how to move forward?

“Stories do not change the past, but they can change the way we understand it.”

Our Vision

MALIKA believes that stories can inspire hope and that knowledge can open new possibilities. Our long-term vision is to expand access to learning through reading, open educational resources, and educational initiatives, particularly for those whose opportunities have been limited by displacement or economic hardship.
